  • A long time ago our people believed that Wanjina was a god to them, the Wandjina is a protector of the land and the sea and the Gwion ( Bradshaws) are the helpers of the Wandjina. The Wandjina are ancestral spirits who created country, people and animals in the North West Kimberly before turning themselves into rock paintings.These are the figures that you see on the rock art. The Gwion figures and the Junba (the little people).are the people from long ago that the ancestors drew in the caves.
