This is a women’s dreaming story about women travelling to a rockhole. Tjukula (rockholes) are important places to Anangu (people of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Lands, SA) as they are a source of kapi, water. They also play an important role in dreaming stories, known as ‘tjukurpa’ They also collect honey ants, known as ‘tjala’. These honey ants are dug up from deep under the ground of the roots of a type of tree. The membrane on their backs is broken and the sweet honey is sucked out. This is a very popular sweet for Anangu..
