This painting depicts Cook Town where Captain Cook was sailing on the Endeavour too close to the reef. He thought the local people were waving at him but they were trying to warn him about the dangerous reef’s. He hit hit the reef and had to seek refuge with the local people. It took them several weeks for the ship to get fixed.
The blue and white dots represents the ocean and the different people represents the different tribes.
