Valerie Mangolamara

Valerie is a Wunumbul women who regularly paints and takes part in cultural activities at Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre. In 2012 she was selected to represent Kira Kirra Art Centre, Kalumburu, at the annual AANKAA meeting.

Valerie has a strong interest in mixing colours and capturing the textual qualitites of her old peoples cave paintings. Valerie is recognised as a community person with a strong ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.

Fremantle Arts Centre is situated at Walyalup on Whadjuk Nyoongar Boodjar. We acknowledge the Whadjuk people as the traditional owners and custodians of these lands and waterways and extend our respect to their Elders, past and present.
