Nancy Wungundin
Mowanjum Art and Culture CentreNancy grew up in Imintji Community, which lies further up the Gibb River Road north-east of Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre. She is an artist with a deep understanding of Cultural knowledge and protocol.
Nancy loves visiting country. She remembers the cave sites that her old people took her to visit as a child. The designs in Nancy’s paintings are contemporary, however they always maintain a strong connection with the cave paintings of her old people.
In addition, Nancy is a skilled carver. Based on her high-level craftmanship she presents workshops at the annual Mowanjum Festival and in 2014 was invited to facilitate Boab Carving Workshops at the significant Kimberley Aboriginal Law and Cultural Centre Festival at Jarlmadangah Community.
