Colleen Drage
Ku’arlu Mangga (Good Nest)Colleen Drage lives and works in Northampton, on Yamatji Country. She is a senior Nhanda woman, and cultural leader in the community. Colleen Drage grew up in Ajana and on the Murchison River, then moved to Northampton for her high school education. Colleen has a strong cultural background from her early life on Murchison House Station, with strong memories and stories from aunties and uncles and particularly her father. Her artworks celebrates these memories and connection to Country. Colleens art skills have developed in collaboration with her daughter Mauretta, during the intergenerational arts projects delivered with youth on country, and follow up skills workshops in art studios at Ku’arlu Mangga.
Colleen is a founding artist and cultural director of Ku’arlu Mangga (Good Nest) Aboriginal Art Centre located at Northampton.
