Awalari Teamay
Maruku ArtsAwalari Esther Teamay has lived for many years in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park community of Mutitjulu. She has worked in many area of research, land management and tourism in the Park, teaching her culture to visitors and others who come to work in her country. Awalari is also one of the senior singers for inma (traditional ceremony).
She has also worked as an ‘artist in residence’ for the Maruku Arts Gallery in the National Park Cultural Centre. She and her husband Malya, well known artist and community leader, often work on their paintings together.
