For 35 years Maruku has operated as a not-for-profit art and craft corporation across 22 communities in the Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Lands in WA, SA & NT serving more than 500 artists. We are owned and operated by Anangu.

 We are the only organisation concentrating on punu (wood carving) in the Central and Western Desert area. Our work is crucial to keep the tradition of Punu Making alive and helping Punu Maker to develop to bring their works to the national and international art market.

Our purpose is to keep culture strong and alive for future generations and to make culture accessible in an authentic and enduring way. In addition, Maruku is an important source of income for artists living in remote communities.

Policies

Shipping policy

Please clearly nominate a street address for delivery. All paintings will be carefully rolled and sent in a tube for safety. Maruku Arts has a mail service twice a week. Every effort is made to dispatch artworks as quickly as possible, but specific delivery times cannot be guaranteed. Please keep in mind that you are purchasing something from a remote community. Delivery time for domestic postage is usually ten days after the item has been sent and international up to six weeks. Shipping Within Australia Domestic orders are sent by Australia Post, or Northline depending on size of artworks, all artworks are fully insured. Delivery time is 14 – 30 business days due to the remoteness of the Art Centre. Shipping International: International orders are shipped via TNT, fully insured and including a tracking number. Delivery time is up to eight weeks. National shipping is already included. Be aware for international shipping there will be extra costs. Please contact us under artprojects@maruku.com.au to calculate the additional costs. Artworks will be send after the extra costs are paid.

Refund policy

Refunds  Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. Late or missing refunds  If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at artprojects@maruku.com.au. Sale items  Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Return policy

Returns Our policy lasts 10 days. If 10 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
